As part of its 60th birthday celebrations, the Japanese television station TV Tokyo has launched a YouTube channel named TV Tokyo WW. The channel was launched on 18 November 2023, with several anime and J-dramas already listed on channel for viewers to watch.
Here are some anime and J-drama titles that are currently available on the channel:
- Shugo Chara. Adapted from a manga by Peach-Pit, Shugo Chara tells the story of Amu, a bossy girl who is actually very shy and lacks confidence. One day, Amu finds three brightly colored eggs that hatch into fairy-like guardians called “Shugo Chara”. The anime is available on the channel with Indonesian and English subtitles.
- Squid Girl / Shinryaku! Ika Musume. The story of comedy anime Squid Girl revolves around the titular anthropomorphic Squid Girl who is tired of people polluting the sea. She decides to destroy a beach house, but gets caught and is forced to work as a waitress. The anime is available with Indonesian and English subtitles.
- Skip Beat. Adapted from a manga by Yoshiki Nakamura, Skip Beat follows the story of Kyoko Mogami, a girl who is betrayed by her boyfriend when he begins to thrive in the entertainment industry. Because of this, she plans to get revenge on him by entering the business to become a top idol. The anime is available with Indonesian and English subtitles.
- Fairy Musketeers. The anime tells the story of Suzukaze Souta, a boy with mysterious powers. One day, he meets Akazukin (Red Riding Hood) and realizes that he holds a “key” of utmost importance to his world. Because of this, Akazukin protects Sōta from the evil wizard Cendrillon who wishes to obtain Shota’s power. The anime is available with Indonesian and English subtitles.
- Tactics. The Story of Tactics is set during the Taisho era. In Tokyo, a mysterious incident takes place within Viscount Edogawa’s family. Fortunately, a spirit buster named Kantaro Ichinomiya arrives and solves the mystery. However, the story only unfolds from there, as Ichinomiya meet a goblin trapped in a stone. The anime is available with Indonesian and English subtitles.
- Brave Yoshihiko. Brave Yoshihiko is a live-action adventure comedy set in a world inspired by the RPG Dragon Quest. As a mysterious epidemic spreads, an honest man named Yoshihiko is chosen to be the hero who must embark on a journey to save his village. The drama is available with Indonesian, English, and Filipino subtitles.
- If It Sounds Good to You / Omimi ni Aimashitara. Starred by former Nogizaka group member Marika Ito, If It Sounds Good to You tells the story of Misono Takamura. She’s an introvert but is very enthusiastic about podcasts and food. Because of this, her co-worker Arisa Sudo suggested that Takamura should make her own podcast. The drama is available with Indonesian, English, and Filipino subtitles.
- Escape From the History Maze. Starring Riko Fukumoto (Rico), Escape From the History Maze is a sci-fi comedy series that tells of the story a high school girl who goes back in time to solve codes and save the future. The drama is available with Indonesian, English, and Filipino subtitles.
- Theatre of Darkness. Theatre of Darkness is a unique horror show that uses photos, noise, and animated images to tell its dark stories. It’s available with Indonesian, English, and Filipino subtitles.
