In collaboration with Tastemade Indonesia, Indonesian VTuber agency DigiKagi will host a competition that challenges VTubers’ cooking skills. The event, Taste Trials, will be started in July 2024.
Digikagi will hold the event in collaboration with Tastemade Indonesia, a media company that amass more than 300 million monthly global viewers across all major digital, mobile, and streaming platforms. They create award-winning content about food, travel, and design. With more than 8 years of experience, Tastemade operates in 7 countries and has more than 4 million followers in Indonesia. They have produced more than 2500 recipes and streaming videos.
In this event, every dish produced will be “tested” (thus the name Taste Trials or Taste Court) by experienced chefs, such as Kevin Pangemanan and Tasya Khairunnisa. Those two judges will also determine the type of dishes that will be made in this competition.
Taste Trials will be broadcast on both the Tastemade Indonesia YouTube channel and the channel of the VTubers who are involved. This program targets a total audience of 30,000. A total of 4 (four) episodes is planned, starting in July 2024.
Nico Alyus, CEO of Digikagi, said that registration starts in May 2024. Roby Bagindo from Tastemade Indonesia informed that the total prize of IDR 10,000,000 (Around USD 622.69) will be distributed to the winners. The organizers hope this event will connect the culinary industry and virtual streamers, which can lead to interesting collaboration in the future.
Roby said he welcomes any chief or people who work in the culinary industry if they want to get involved in this event. He also hopes this event can be held regularly, probably once or twice a year.
