Indonesian animation studio Jiva Animation will launch its first anime project, The Unforgettable Journey of LALA in July 2024. The anime will be premiered both on Jiva Animation Youtube Channel and Bstation.
The anime tells the story of Lala, an Indonesian village girl who travels around Indonesia to carry out a promise she made to her late mother. In this anime, we will be invited to enjoy the charm of Indonesia with a touch of Japanese anime.
The anime is directed by Aswin Nur Cahya, the CEO of Jiva Animation, who also voices the Father in this short anime. Ocha Mocca, a rising Indonesian VTuber, plays Lala.
“I, along with the Jiva team, want to show Indonesian life in anime form, and Lala is there to show it. I believe that we, Indonesians, can also make our own anime that is as good as Japan’s. I hope that this short anime can be accepted by the public and developed to be a series or film,” said Aswin Nur Cahya.
By using the latest Japanese standard of 2D animation technology, Jiva Animation aims to present the beauty of Indonesia through a colorful 2D world. The staff behind Jiva Animation will also stream themselves during the premiere of The Unforgettable Journey of Lala and open a Q&A session with the fans at that time.
Jiva Animation is an animation studio located in Malang, East Java. The studio was founded by Aswin Nur Cahya, an anime compositor from Indonesia who has worked in Japan for 6 years and is involved in the anime production process. Before releasing their own anime, Jiva Animation has been involved in the production of some anime titles, including Tokyo Revengers, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, and The Dangers in My Heart.
