Sosoro Otaku Fest event, organized by Nishikai and held from 17 to 18 August 2024 at Mall Sosoro Merak, was a resounding success. In addition to the Coswalk Competition and Singing Competition, this year’s event introduced a new feature that caught the attention of the KAORI team: Cosplay Avenue. Here, cosplayers could open their booth and sell their own merchandise, such as photo packs, posters, acrylic standees, keychains, and many more.
Cosplayers at Cosplay Avenue didn’t just sell merchandise; they also hosted engaging activities like darts and gacha. These activities were designed to foster closer interactions with visitors and offer enticing bonuses related to the content sold by Cosplay Avenue talents. In addition to the bonuses, visitors could enjoy these entertaining games, interact with the cosplayers, engage in conversations, and even take photos, bringing them closer to the talent.
One of the talent booths the KAORI team visited was Seiraa Capella’s booth. As a Guest Star at Sosoro Otaku Fest and a performer on Cosplay Avenue, Seiraa’s booth was bustling with activity. She offered a variety of goods, including fans, posters, acrylic keychains, and photocards. Seiraa engaged warmly with her guests, charming them with her friendly demeanour and sense of humour, which made her booth a popular spot.
Seiraa Capella expressed her excitement about being a Guest Star at Sosoro Otaku Fest, a role she hadn’t anticipated. She shared her thoughts with the KAORI team during their visit to her booth. “I’m happy—I didn’t expect it because I’ve never experienced an event outside of Jakarta,” Seiraa said. She also hopes that more events will be held in the Serang-Cilegon area, and that cosplayers there will continue to grow and shine.
At Cosplay Avenue, the KAORI team also visited the booth of Izzyoury, also known as Riri. Riri’s booth featured various merchandise, including acrylic standees, posters, and photo cards. Like other talents, she hosted an entertaining game, dart throwing, where participants could earn better bonuses with higher scores. Riri expressed her hope that Cosplay Avenue content would continue to be featured in future events.
Dinara, the head of Nishikai, shared her hopes for Cosplay Avenue at Sosoro Otaku Fest. She envisions it as a platform to spotlight the cosplay community, encouraging cosplayers to be more creative and engaged on both social media and in real life. She also hopes Cosplay Avenue will bring greater recognition to the cosplay community, especially in the Serang-Cilegon area of Banten.
