Synopsis
A young saint, Philia came from the Adenauer family, renowned for their generational saint lineage. However, Philia is different; she is known as the most powerful saint of all time who got multiple gifts, which are humility and care for everyone. On an unprecedented day, her fiancé, the second prince, suddenly decides to call off their engagement and, even worse, sell her off to a neighboring country that requires a saint. Philia now needs to face the reality and had thought that she may have more miserable treatment in a country that she doesn’t belong to.

Cakra Bhirawa (The Indonesian Anime Times)
An anime featuring a character with a powerful gift or skill—but this time, it’s not an isekai? Oh, thank goodness! After being bombarded with countless isekai anime following similar plots, I genuinely hope this series will be a breath of fresh air. It’s refreshing to focus solely on the current situation rather than having to connect to a protagonist’s previous life. Since I haven’t read any of the source material, I have to say that the first episode does a fantastic job of establishing the world-building and setting up the protagonist’s circumstances. It presents a clear narrative direction for the upcoming episodes.
What stood out most to me in this episode was how they portrayed the antagonist as the classic “fool who wants everything.” This characterization was executed with just the right balance, making it both familiar and effective. I sincerely hope the series explores the antagonists’ eventual realization of their mistakes, especially showcasing their despair when confronted with the consequences of their actions.
Overall, this episode left me intrigued by the series. I particularly enjoy seeing a pettanko-type character a humble protagonist with a unique gift that goes unrecognized. Although this preference might seem a bit specific or unconventional, what draws me to this archetype is how it often leads to compelling narrative and character development. Watching the protagonist grow and learn to take pride in themselves is always a rewarding journey.
