Idols! Who doesn’t like them? They are still so ubiquitous that it would seem strange if there were no idol anime for one year. Sou Hamayumiba, or better known as the author of Hanayamata, has created a new idol series that will adorn this year’s fall season, Dropout Idol Fruit Tart!

The story begins with Ino Sakura, a country girl who wants to become an idol by moving to Tokyo. However, the journey to become an Idol feels far away when the agency she joined is in crisis and in order to save it, she must become an idol with his unpopular friends!

From the premise alone, we can see that the have a heavy burden, but rest assured, this anime isn’t that seriously dramatic. They focus is more on the daily lives with each character having their own background and weaknesses, making their interactions even merrier. Moreover, the idol promotion is carried out through reality shows, so it’s feels like seeing an oshi from an actual idol group doing a challenge, but this one is 2D of course.

Thanks to the unique personalities of the six main casts and their fun interactions, fans of Hanayamata or idol should  be interested in this anime. Also, don’t forget to bring insulin before watching so you don’t have excess blood sugar from the cuteness!
