Based on Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, the story of Kaiju No. 8 takes place in Japan, where deadly monsters known as kaiju repeatedly attack the country. To combat them, the country established a special military force focusing on kaiju. One of the individuals who want to join the force is Kafka Hibino. However, he always failed the enrollment exams year after year. Yet, he never gives up. But after being attacked by a kaiju, Kafka is suddenly able to transform into a kaiju. Can join the Kaiju Extermination Forces with this condition? And if he passes the test, can he hide the fact that he’s a kaiju from other soldiers?
The manga is available digitally on MangaPlus for international audiences, with new chapters published every Thursday on 22.00 West Indonesian Time. In Indonesia, m&c! published the tankoubon version since 2 February 2022.
