Later, she is arranged to marry Kiyoka, a soldier who is rumoured to be so harsh that all his fiancée has cancelled their engagement. With no home to return to, Miyo has to accept her cold fiance. Despite initial hardships, she holds onto the belief that she might find true love and happiness with Kiyoka.

Originally, My Happy Marriage was first published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. It was later re-released as a light novel with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka. The story was also adapted into a manga, illustrated by Rito Kohsaka, and its light novel version has been published in Indonesia by Phoenix Gramedia. Additionally, the story has been adapted into a live-action film.
