Illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family tells the story of a spy who works under the codename Twilight. His latest mission is to approach the extremely cautious politician Donovan Desmond by infiltrating his son’s school. To do that, Twilight has to put together a (phoney) family with an orphan girl named Anya as a (phoney) daughter and an ordinary civil servant named Yor as a (phoney) wife. The manga has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump+ website and app since March 2019, with the English version released simultaneously on Shueisha’s Manga Plus website and app.
Written and illustrated by Naoki Urasawa, 20th Century Boys tells the story of Kenji, Otcho, Yoshitsune, and Maruo in 1969, who build a secret base to hang out in an empty field. After Yukiji and Donkey join the gang, they imagine a scenario where villains would try to destroy the world, and the boys would stand up and fight. The gang then wrote the imagined scenario into a book which they dubbed “The Book of Prophecy”. 30 years later, adult Kenji stumbles upon a dangerous cult led by a man known only as “Friend”. After that, a series of dangerous events happened in the real world. These events are somewhat similar to the events that Kenji and the gang created in the Book of Prophecy, which prompted them to investigate.
20th Century Boys was serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic Spirits from 1999 to 2006, consisting of 249 chapters that were compiled in 22 volumes. In 2005, Elex Media published all 22 volumes of 20th Century Boys in Indonesia. After 20 years, Elex Media republished the comic in a special Complete Edition format. In this edition, the manga is compiled into 11 volumes and published with book jackets, colored pages, and a bigger size than the regular edition.
Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, the story of Blue Lock began with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The elimination prompted the Japan Football Union to start a program for high school football players in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. The Union initiates a prison-like training institution called Blue Lock, which isolates 300 young forwards and puts them through rigorous training to create “the world’s greatest egoistic striker”. Blue Lock began its serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine in August 2018.
