On Friday (19/6), Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo released a list of manga tentatively scheduled for July 2026. Two of the new manga in that list are Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You and Hope You’re Happy, Lemon.
Later on Monday (22/6), Elex Media also announced that Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You volume 1 is scheduled for release on 1 July 2026, along with other manga such as Dan Da Dan volume 13 and Choujin X volume 3.
Written and illustrated by Jinushi, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You follows the story of Sasaki, an overworked salaryman who finds comfort in the cheerful customer service of a friendly cashier at his local supermarket, Yamada. One evening, after working late and discovering that Yamada has already left for the day, Sasaki steps outside for a smoke. There, he encounters a mysterious woman named Tayama, who invites him to the smoking area behind the supermarket.
Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You originally began as a Twitter Comic first published in March 2022. The series later started its serialisation in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in August 2022. The manga is also available digitally through Square Enix’s Manga UP! app and website.
Written and illustrated by Mizuki Kishikawa, Hope You’re Happy, Lemon tells the story of Akiyoshi Sunao. After his first-ever girlfriend shattered his heart when he was in middle school, he swore not to fall in love again. However, all that changes when he develops a crush on a girl in his university’s film club. Just as he’s finally beginning to move on from the past, he bumps into his ex-girlfriend. Little does he know that this is only the beginning of his weird body-swap story.
Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media has also published comics intended for adult audiences under the new imprint called Level Comics.
