At Comic Frontier (Comifuro) 22 on 16 to 17 May 2026, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Indonesian VTuber agency Prism:NOVA opened a booth with a fresh concept following its successful appearance at Comifuro 21. Located at booth AC-07, the agency created a unique atmosphere with charming decorations, standees, and banners that made visitors feel as though they had stepped into a cafe.
The KAORI Nusantara team had the opportunity to interview two members of Prism:NOVA: Ghozi, a staff member, and Faizal, the manager of Prism:NOVA’s third-generation VTuber, Palleteia. When we visited, the booth was relatively quiet, allowing us to take photos of its distinctive design and speak with the Prism members there.
First, can you introduce yourself?
Ghozi: Okay, my name is Ghozi. I am one of the staff from Prism:NOVA.
Faizal: And my name is Faizal. I am the manager for Prism:NOVA third generation, Palleteia.
What do you think is the biggest challenge to surviving in the current VTuber industry?
Ghozi: I think the biggest challenge is that the VTuber market is dynamic and often changing. New trends and innovations emerge all the time, so we need to be alert and agile in facing these challenges.
Furthermore, in terms of management, although we have sufficient human resources to handle daily operational tasks, we understand that this work is more of a side gig. Some of our staff have primary jobs in the real world, and future opportunities are still limited. Because of this, we’re always adapting to work with the current management in the VTuber industry.
Finally, the VTuber talent pool is another concern that worries us. At Comifuro 21, we still had six VTubers, which we considered a complete roster. However, by 2026, only three will remain, particularly at Comifuro 22. To survive in this ever-changing industry, we had to use our creativity amidst our struggle.
Other than the three challenges mentioned above, we’re doing well for now.
What do you think is the solution?
Faizal: Understanding emerging trends and current demand is the first step in our solution. Based on our observations, we can then adapt and be flexible. Next, we start by communicating with fellow staff, talent, and our community. Finally, after implementing the three steps above, we can monitor our progress so far and determine whether or not they have been successful.
What are your hopes for the future of the VTuber industry in Indonesia?
Faizal: In terms of our aspirations for the future, we hope that the industry can stabilise first, considering that the VTuber industry in Indonesia has a lot of potential. However, recently, it has been experiencing ups and downs due to various factors, including the problems the industry is currently facing. In this fast-paced industry, stability must come first.
In 2026, the Indonesian VTuber industry continues to offer a variety of surprises, from participation, quality, to innovation. How will Prism:NOVA survive in this industry?
Faizal: The first step, in my opinion, for Prism:NOVA to remain relevant and continue to grow today, is to consistently keep up with the trends and developments that are being discussed. In addition to keeping us relevant, this enables us to be adaptable and flexible, therefore increasing our chances of surviving in the future.
Furthermore, maintaining our identity, especially in terms of characterisation, storytelling, and roleplaying, which are our distinct characteristics, is another strategy that is often overlooked in this industry. This allows us to continue to deliver to the VTuber community in our own way.
