Kichijoji, Tokyo, Japan 11th of January 2017 – Manga creators around the world have a new chance to have their works read by legendary manga pros and bringing the biggest smile to their readers. The KUMAMOTO INTERNATIONAL MANGA FESTIVAL 2017, the biggest manga festival of its kind, is now taking entries. The Festival is offering manga creators around the world the chance for their works to be read and evaluated by Tetsuo Hara (Fist of the North Star) and Tsukasa Hojo (City Hunter) along with industry veterans. Award winners of the festival also have the chance to win a trip to Japan, a JPY 500,000 cash prize, and have the chance to debut as a professional manga creator.

Silent Manga Category: A smile-inducing and heart-touching story or episodes filled with positive emotions. Please include Kumamoto Castle or Kumamoto’s nature.
Illustration Category: An illustration of an original character with the finest smile. Please try to keep the illustration from the chest up.
