COAMIX INC., a Tokyo-based Manga (Japanese style comics) publisher announces the award winners of SILENT MANGA AUDITION® ROUND SEVEN (SMA7) – a Manga award aiming to discover and support young manga creators around the globe.
The theme for round 7 is “Unforgettable taste”. Top performing countries are Brazil and Vietnam, with the highest awards going to EUDETENIS of Brazil and Zevania & Nattorin of Vietnam. Indonesia and Russia continue to build presence, while Italy, Spain and Malaysia have fastest growing number of participants. Special mentions go to Hungary, Libya and Turkey where they have their first award winner.
41 Award winners are born this time, from 608 entries / 64 countries and regions. Top 5 award winners will join “SMA MASTERCLASS” – COAMIX’s accelerator program to kick-start manga creators’ carrier. 35 International creators currently are signed-up to the program. Acceptance ceremony for the new members will take place in Tokyo, early 2018.
