Synopsis
Isekai Shokudou tells of a restaurant named “Yoshoku no Nekoya” (Western Cuisine Cat Restaurant), which is located in a basement of a Shopping district. Although it was famous among salarymen, this restaurant has a secret. Every Saturday, when the restaurant is closed, it is filled with “special customers” from another world. For those salarymen, this place is a restaurant that they regularly visit, with familiar menu, but for those “special customers” on holiday, they enjoy never before seen foods.
Comments
An anime that offers soothing experience in a thrilling setting. There’s no scene of the chef surprised and panicked to see the customer is a beastman or lizardman. The very interesting thing is how the opening at the beginning of the anime is so natural without any infodump.
In this early episode, the most striking character is a dragon who can turn into a beautiful woman. She made Nekoya restaurant her most valuable treasure. The Dragon gave her blessing of protection to Aletta, the demon girl who works in Nekoya, indicating that she is part of her treasure.
No tension in this anime despite the fantasy setting, so the anime is suitable as a “dessert” among other anime titles in this season.
