Synopsis

Osomatsu-san tells the story of sextuplet Matsuno brothers, each having their own quirks. This anime is a new project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the author, Fujio Akatsuka. Adapted and reimagined from the 60s comics Osomatsu-kun, Matsuno brothers was reinvented for the 21st century viewers.

The absurdness came back! Just like how the first episode in the first season managed to do “a bit too much”, this episode is full of self-deprecating jokes, clearly aware about the first season”s hit. Now, the Matsuno brothers and “the production commitee” became very rich (and surrounded by presumably fujoshis), they became some filthy ojiisans and exploited their fame as they please. That didn’t last long and soon people got enraged to their mischievousness.

Then a time reset occured and they were back to their childhood. Several years later, the Matsuno brothers were reunited with their own definition of “success” (if you count yourself in 3D form as a “success”). However that didn’t last long and the villain came. After some epic battle which involves the Gundam and Ultraman-like skit, peace has came back to the Earth.

It’s a good and long-awaited continuation and for the next three months, we can look forward for more slapstick-like enjoyment from the Matsuno brothers. The 18+ nature of content aside, I hope they won’t withdraw the first episode just like what they done in the first season.
