Fall 2017 Anime: My Girlfriend is Shobitch

Synopsis

Haruka Shinozaki fell in love with the head of her class Akiho Kousaka, who is superior to him in academic and non-academic matters. One day, Shinozaki beaver himself to confess his love to Kousaka, and she accepted, Then they began dating. Though Kousaka took her to a date like a normal teenager, she suggested to do activities that seem sexual in nature.

Liking someone more superior than yourself sometimes make you feel less confident. But the main character in this series who is lucky to get a girlfriend he has desired since entering the school doesn’t appear to feel that way. Turns out the beloved Akiho Kousaka has problems in social interaction and that makes her clueless about romances. Plus the unguided curiousity makes her easily influenced by others. Thus, the information obtained in this way ended up being how to satisfy by the lover’s sexual desires.

Overall, in the first episode there are things that makes me a bit disappointed, because the sexual joke displayed feels too made up, so I had to re-think what makes the joke funny. Furthermore, just like others romcom (romance comedy) anime, there are always some supporting characters such as childhood friends, cousins and others that are worth to waiting attend on the next episode.

Although I cannot judge an anime from the first episode only, hopefully in the next episodes the relationships will be increasingly mature with better and more explicit sexual jokes.
