The Japanese Film Festival Online is confirmed to be held next year. On their social media, The Japanese Foundation Jakarta announced that the event will be held from 14 to 27 February 2022.

A pre-event also will be held from 15 to 21 November 2021. For the pre-event, Five films are scheduled to be screened on their website. Here is the list of the films:

  • The Great Passage (Yuya Ishii, 2013),
  • GON, THE LITTLE FOX (Takeshi Yashiro, 2019),
  • Little Nights, Little Love (Rikiya Imaizumi, 2019),
  • DANCE WITH ME (Shinobu Yakuchi, 2019),
  • Tora-san in Goto (Masaru Oura, 2016).

Organized by Japan Foundation, Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is an annual film screening event that focused on showcasing Japanese films. Until 2019,  JFF has been held as an offline event in 12 countries including Australia, Russia, China, India, and many Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia. In 2020, the event has shifted into an online event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several films have been screened at the Japanese Film Festival, including Shoplifters, One Cut of the Dead,  Samurai Shifters, the Chihayafuru film series, and The Man from the Sea. Some anime films also had been screened at the event, including The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Tamako Love Story, The Boy and the Beast, The Anthem of the Heart, and Mary and The Witch’s Flower.
