The Japan Foundation has announced the initial lineup of films that will be screened as part of the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) 2026 in Indonesia.
The announced lineup consists of 11 films spanning various genres and themes. The films are Mieruko-chan, Hula Girls (4K Remastered), Samurai Vengeance, Purehearted, Chimney Town: Frozen in Time, One Last Love Letter, Suzuki=Bakudan, Tokyo Taxi, The Final Piece, Bring Him Down to a Portable Size, and Throne of Blood.
The Japan Foundation also added that more films will be announced at a later date.
Previously, the Japan Foundation also announced the list of cities that will hold the Indonesian JFF 2026 event. The Indonesian JFF 2026 will take place across nine cities from November to December 2026. They are Jakarta, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Medan, Bandung, Palembang, and Padang.

The film lineup will vary between cities. Not every film in the festival’s overall programme will necessarily be screened at every location. Further information regarding the detailed screening schedules and ticketing will be announced at a later date.

The festival has been held in various countries across the world, including Australia, Russia, China, India, and many Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia.
