Indonesian comics publisher m&c! has shipped the first volume of Bocchi the Rock! manga to bookstores on 20 March 2024. The manga is published with a suggested retail price of IDR 45,000 (about USD 2.86).
The story of Bocchi the Rock! centered on a high school girl named Hitori Goto. Nicknamed “Bocchi-chan” (“Loner”) by her friends, she is a shy girl who is also a very talented guitarist. By being good at playing guitar, she hopes people will start noticing her and she can make friends. However, socializing is not as easy as she thought.
Written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji, Bocchi the Rock! has been serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max since December 2017. The manga has been adapted into an anime television series by CloverWorks, aired from October to December 2022.
m&c! is an Indonesian comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Besides publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics, Hong Kong martial arts comics, and Indonesian comics under the Koloni imprint.
