On Wednesday (17/8), ODEX announced that Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 will be screened in Indonesia. CGV Cinemas and Cinepolis Indonesia have confirmed that the film will be available in their theatres. The exact premiere date of the film has not been announced yet.
Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 (titled Bocchi the Rock! Re: in the Japanese release of the film) is an anime film compilation of the Bocchi the Rock! anime series. The anime was originally aired on 9 October 2022. The recap film will include added scenes and new songs by Kessoku Band, the band that was featured in the anime, titled Shine as Usual and Now, I’m Going from Underground.
Bocchi the Rock! is the adaptation of a manga series created by Aki Hamaji. The manga is first serialized in Manga Time Kirara Max in December 2017. It tells the story of Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh, a high school girl with social anxiety who wants to join a band and become popular. Her love of music leads her to meet a bunch of friends who formed a band with her. With their help, she learned to get out of her comfort zone and slowly but surely deal with her social anxiety.
Bocchi the Rock!! manga has been adapted into an anime series and a couple of stage plays titled Bocchi the Rock! LIVE STAGE -PART I STARRY- and Bocchi the Rock! LIVE STAGE -PART II Shukasai-. In Indonesia, the manga itself has been published by m&c!.
