On Saturday (9/11), various VTubers from  Hololive Production held another concert in Indonesia. Held as a part of hololive STAGE World Tour ’24 SOAR! world tour, the concert was held during the Indonesia Comic Con 2024 event at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. In addition to Jakarta, the tour also includes cities like New York, Atlanta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei.

While the previous hololive concert in Indonesia only featured members from Hololive ID, this time it involved members from Hololive EN such as Hakos Baelz, Ninomae Ina’nis, and Takahashi Kiara, as well as AZKi and Tsunomaki Watame from Hololive JP. How exciting was the concert there? Let’s find out!

Tight Security Before Entering The Venue

Before the event began, the atmosphere around the venue was very crowded. Fans from all over Indonesia, some even coming from abroad, waited patiently for the venue to open while wearing the attributes of their favourite Hololive VTubers. I met fellow Hololive fans whom I usually interacted with online. Some came from out of town, and there were even some fans who came from Comifuro 19, which happened to be held at the same time as the concert but held at ICE BSD, Tangerang, around 25 Km from Jakarta Convention Center.

Originally, the venue was supposed to open according to the event schedule, which was 1700 WIT (Western Indonesian Times). However, by 1730 WIT, the venue had still not opened. Finally, I decided to go downstairs to do my maghrib prayer and go to the toilet. When I came back to the venue at 1815 WIT, the door was finally opened. It turned out that the venue doors were opened at 1800 WIT, one hour after its announced schedule.

The entry process was a completely new experience for me. It was very strict. Fans had to leave drinks at a designated table and place their gadgets into sealed brown folders labelled with unique IDs. Because I had my cell phone with me, I had to leave them there. I was also advised to not set the phone in silent mode and to keep the cellular data on. This was useful later when I needed to get back my items. Finally, the visitor’s belongings were thoroughly checked before entering the concert venue.

Initially, the concert was scheduled to start at 1830 WIT. However, due to the large number of spectators undergoing security checks and the late opening of the venue, the concert started late. It was finally started at 1850 WIT. I sat in the Cat 1 section. I was surprised to see that there were several VIP ticket holders mistakenly seated in Cat 1. Interestingly, the view from Cat 1 felt more strategic than from the VIP section itself. Wow!

Song setlist

There were 15 songs performed at this concert. This included seven original singles from individual VTubers, four duets, two trios, and two songs from the Hololive Idol Project, which served as the opening and closing numbers. Uniquely, among the six duet and trio performances, there were three cover songs outside of Hololive projects.
