Attending Madman Anime Festival will be director Shingo Natsume and voice actor Makoto Furukawa, visiting Australia for the first time to meet fans. With dedicated panels, events from the series, this is something you cannot miss out on!

Welcome Shingo Natsume (Japan)

2132132unnamedShingo Natsume, director of the phenomenal ONE PUNCH MAN, will be coming to talk all about the series and its incredible success.

Natsume-san has become one of the current most popular figures in the anime world and has been involved in some pretty amazing titles, such as FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS, and THE TATAMI GALAXY with both title’s Creative Direction. He is also the director of the hilarious sci-fi comedy SPACE DANDY.


In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies, if they die in the game, they die in real life.

SWORD ART ONLINE fans, this is one event you won’t want to miss out on! Madman Anime Festival is excited to be bringing you the director of this incredible series, Tomohiko Ito!

Welcome Tomohiko Ito (Japan)


Ito-san is a director with an impressive resume, having not only directed hit anime such as SWORD ART ONLINE and ERASED, but also working as an assistant director to Mamoru Hosoda on SUMMER WARS and THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME. He will also be speaking about his experience working on the upcoming SWORD ART ONLINE movie, ORDINAL SCALE, due to be released in 2017. Ito-san will be bringing his extensive knowledge and experiences of the anime industry to Madman Anime Festival!

Welcome Cristina Vee (USA)

09231unnamedA voice actress of over 100 animation and video game characters, among her roles Cristina’s involvement in SAILOR MOON, LOVE LIVE! and MADOKA MAGICA make her a fan favourite!  Cristina’s video games roles have included BLAZBLUE, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0, and she also casts and directors SKULLGIRLS.  We welcome Cristina, voice of Sailor Mars to Melbourne!

Tokyo Ghoul Exhibition

For the first time ever in Australia, we are thrilled to announce that Madman Anime Festival will showcase the TOKYO GHOUL Art Exhibition! Feast your eyes on original storyboards, sketches, character settings and more of this gory thriller straight from the production studio to you!

A celebration of cosplay

Madman Anime Festival will also host the Victorian preliminary round of the Madman National Cosplay Championship. Now in its 8th year, the Madman National Cosplay Championship is Australia’s premiere cosplay contest. The winner of the Victorian preliminary round will go on to the final event at Supanova Expo Brisbane in November.
