On Monday (23/6), Indonesian game developer Gambir Studio released a new content update for their cooking simulation game, Selera Nusantara: Chef Story. The new update focuses on the local food from the Bandung area, Siomay and Mie Kocok.
The new chapter also continues the story of Selera Nusantara: Chef Story’s protagonist, Siska, who is now serving as a mentor in a culinary training programme in Bandung. This time, Siska is tasked with guiding Marinka, a passionate young chef struggling to find the right menu for her restaurant. Siska’s leadership and experience will be tested as she helps inexperienced Marinka in her journey.
In this new storyline, players are introduced to Indonesian local food Siomay and Mie Kocok. Siomay, a dish adapted from Chinese shumai, is made using a blend of mackerel and flour, steamed, and served with a signature peanut sauce. Meanwhile, Mie Kocok is a noodle dish served with a beef broth, often complemented by cuts of tendon meat, bean sprouts, meatballs, and a variety of garnishes. Both dishes are renowned for their deep flavour and are considered staples of Bandung’s street food scene.
Selera Nusantara: Chef Story‘s special chapter is available to players who have completed Season 4 of the game. The update is now live on the Google Play Store, with a release on the Apple App Store planned for a later date.
