On 2 February 2015, KAORI Nusantara, Indonesia’s most respected anime journalism website, launches its English news service.
Called The Indonesian Anime Times, this service aims to bring the best of Indonesian anime and creative economy trends to the world. The renowned anime culture investigation and analysis strand Ekspos KAORI would also available in English.
Until recently people outside Indonesia have had a hard time to find the latest news from Indonesian anime and creative economy culture and this is where KAORI aims to serve.
Kevin Wilyan, chief executive officer of KAORI Nusantara, said that while this service will not be as frequently updated as its Indonesian sister site, it will showcase the best of KAORI’s coverage to the overseas audience.
“I think it’s one of the most important moment for KAORI Nusantara to build a better understanding of current Indonesian anime and creative economy events. We are also looking forward to create international partnership so we can represent Indonesia to the world.”
Initially, there would be at least four entries per week, one of them is in-depth report.
KAORI was founded in 2008 as Indonesian news website and community forum. It was revitalised in 2013 and now has become one of the most leading source for Indonesian anime and local creative economy news.
