KAORI has interviewed rising Japanese singer nano. Born in July 12 in New York, nano started with singing covers of Vocaloid songs before releasing the first album for the Phi Brain anime series. In Indonesia, nano is currently known for the song of Arpeggio anime series.

Thanks for your time answering our questions. It’s such good career for you and your name is becoming popular here in Indonesia. Are there any plans to perform in Jakarta in the near future?
A: I hope so! If Jakarta will have me, I’m all for it!

What is nano’s opinion on pop music industry in Japan nowadays and what are the challenges, considering physical sales (CD) are declining?
A: A part of me is sad, but another part of me feels that the changes are inevitable for the growth and evolution of the music industry. Not all changes are negative. More importantly, changes can inspire musicians in new ways, to create new things. I am very positive about the future of music.

What is your favourite game and gadget?
A: Lately, I do everything on my iPhone. As long as I have my phone, I am good to go!

Would you name 5 albums that influence you most in your style of music?
A: Such a tough choice since I listen to so many different types of music. A few of my favorites would have to be: The Beatles “1962-1966”, Enya “A Day Without Rain”, Avril Lavigne “Under My Skin”, OneRepublic “Dreaming Out Loud”, MIYAVI “MIYAVI”.

A: Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan), Hagane No Renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist), Code Geass, Doraemon, Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio (Arpeggio of Blue Steel)
