On 9 March 2021, Indonesian comics publisher m&c! has teased that it will release a Crayon Shin-chan spin-off manga Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch Style (Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryuugi) in Indonesia. The title was announced with a picture showing copies of the translated pages and the cover design for the Indonesian edition with the caption saying “coming soon.” Further details about the release date, format, and retail price has yet to be revealed.

Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch Style focuses of Hiroshi Nohara, the father of Crayon Shin-chan‘s main character, Shinnosuke Nohara, as he visits different stores and tries their foods during lunch breaks. The manga is drawn by Youichi Tsukahara and is serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Town magazine with seven collected volumes have been released at the time of this writing.
The Crayon Shin-chan manga by the late Yoshito Usui tells the everyday life of a five year old boy named Shinnosuke Nohara, nicknamed Shin-chan. The manga itself has been published in Indonesia, previously by PT. Indorestu Pacific and currently by the Elex Media Komputindo, while the anime aired on the TV channel RCTI until 2015, and also briefly aired on TRANS7. The Crayon Shin-chan license in Indonesia is held by PT. Perdana IMMG and Animation International Ltd. The series has also garnered some controversy in Indonesia for jokes that are considered inappropriate for children by media watchdog.
m&c! is an Indonesian comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Other than publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics magazines, and books, Hong Kong martial arts comics, as well as Indonesian comics under the Koloni imprint. The publisher also has the Akasha imprint for mature comics and the Clover imprint for domestic and translated novels.
