Recently, Reine also made a huge rave by collaborating with popular Japanese composer, YUC’e, for your single. Could you tell us more about that?

Reine: I’ve always wanted to make something like this! A release with two songs that have a similar “premise” but are delivered in a completely opposite manner. I enjoy and adore YUC’e’s music, and I’m happy this project could happen. This is the first time I’m releasing something originally in Japanese, and I want to introduce the genre of music I love to my listeners and reach out to the other live fans and even non-fans, especially Japanese fans.

So far, the single is very well received by your audience and is even noticed by many people outside of the VTuber scene. But after releasing two singles in a row, do you plan to focus your activities on music production, like making your own studio album?

Reine: I like releasing songs, so I would love to dive in and try out even more new opportunities when it comes to music. For those who love to see me on free talk or playing games, no worries! Because I will definitely do it. I will definitely do my best to balance it. Being in Hololive has given me a lot of opportunities and motivation to do new things, including when it comes to music. I would love to try to explore more and evolve into a better version of myself.

You mentioned at your 2nd single release party that you held a remix festival for your song. It’s a fun but interesting opportunity for your audience and even trackmakers out there to explore their creative freedom. Why do you want to create this event?

Reine: The remix party isn’t planned yet, but I’m confident I’ll do it with my second single! This isn’t a competition, so all people can enjoy it. I appreciate music, and I want to make this a fun experience for everyone by allowing them to express themselves through my original song. I’ve heard that people who have talent in music but don’t have the time to pursue it might restart their careers by joining this kind of remix party. On the other hand, some folks who wish to go back to music find a good place to start with my original song. Some folks who don’t know where to create music may find this remix party to be a suitable place to start.

Owing to its global popularity, Hololive has so many fans worldwide, numbering perhaps in hundreds of thousands if not millions. Among these fans, many have made their fanworks such as arts, music, and video games known and popular. What is Hololive’s position on this and will they one day support it more?

Reine: As a content creator, I really appreciate the efforts of the friends who have made fanworks and am very happy to see them. Starting from pictures, comics, fanfiction, music, games, and a lot more. I love the passion that is shown through these works. I sincerely thank the artists who have devoted their efforts and passion wholeheartedly. I hope I can continue to be the one who keeps you doing what you guys do.

Risu: Hololive has always been a great house for all of us. I believe they are always supporting us with anything that will help us grow. Hololive is the reason why we are here and why our creativity flourish.

Many have attributed Hololive’s success at penetrating the global market due to the viral clips of Hololive members. And yet, many have also attributed misinformation and rumours to some of these clips. What is the position of Hololive and its talents in this situation?

Reine: There are times when words and interpretations are beyond our control. The best thing I personally can do is to stay true to myself and my audience wherever I go. As I put my faith in my audience, I hope they will put their faith in me as well.

Risu: I would like to live in a time where Hololive will thrive even more in all other aspects, not limited to streaming only. I wish for Hololive to become a good cultural phenomenon that people from all around the world can follow and look forward to in any kind of media available. In conclusion, this trend is highly welcomed.

Hololive has also appeared in many products and sponsorship items. Will we see the same with Hololive ID and Indonesian brands and products?

Reine: Hopefully!

Risu: For such ideas, we will try to make them happen. It would be great to see more ideas like that being voiced and supported by the fans.

Last question, which a lot of people have been asking: What are the skills and traits that Hololive always looks for in their talents? Many have speculated that bilingual skills are valued more these days because Hololive has a foothold in the community. Is that true? Or Do you have another opinion?

Reine: As a person who wants to learn more languages, I like to see other members who can speak multiple languages. It makes Reine motivated to learn a new language. I think language is really good because it can connect many people and cultures. For example, because I can speak both Japanese and English, I can communicate more freely with other holo members from EN and JP. It’s also easier for me to teach others about the ID language, or even tell other things from Indonesia. Like, sometimes I like to tell them what to do when my day ends or share stories about tourist attractions, or even fried chicken in Indonesia. In my opinion, that is something that I would never want to exchange for anything.

Risu: I think the main reason is that you can’t be from this world to be able to join HOLOVIA (laughing). We are always trying to recruit people from so many different places, backgrounds, and knowledge. I would strongly advise Hololive to hire more people from the medieval isekai genre, as I am a huge fan of the genre (laughing). But one thing for sure, we’ve been picked because of our great desire to share the value we have with a broader audience, and we are more than happy to keep doing that.

Got it. So, to increase your chances of joining Hololive, people should be summoned to medieval isekai first. Alright, thanks for your time. Wish you the best in the future.

Reine and Risu: You’re welcome!
