Previously, Indonesian film distributor Feat Pictures announced that they will bring Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film to Indonesia. On Friday (11/2), Feat Pictures has announced that the film will be premiered in Indonesia on March 16, 2022. Feat Pictures also confirmed that the film will be screened in three Indonesian cinema chains, Cinépolis IndonesiaCGV Cinemas Indonesia, and Flix Cinema.

Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a student who lives in a world where negative energy called Curse can bring disaster in the world. Itadori’s life changed as he becomes a student at a school that trains Curse exterminators. The manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018 and received an anime adaptation that began airing in October 2020. In Indonesia, the manga has been published by Elex Media Komputindo since January 2021.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film will adapt the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School. The prequel manga tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu, a high school student who is haunted by a Curse of his childhood friend Rika. Fortunately, his problem is noticed by Satoru Gojo, who convinced Yuta to enrol into a school where fledging exorcists learn how to combat curses. The prequel manga was originally published in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA from April 28 to July 28, 2017, which later republished as a single tankōbon volume on December 4, 2018.

Founded in 2014, Feat Pictures is an Indonesian film distributor known for screening films from various countries. Some Japanese films that have been screened by Feat Pictures include Violet Evergarden the Movie and its spin-offJosee, the Tiger, and the Fish, and Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer. Earlier this year, Feat Pictures also screened Mamoru Hosoda’s latest animated feature, BELLE.
