“Jujutsu Kaisen”, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, and “One Piece” Top Elex Media’s Best Selling Comics for April 2023

On Wednesday (10/3), Indonesian book publisher Elex Media Komputindo posted the list of its best-selling newly-released comics in April 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen volume 9 takes the first place, followed by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba volume 12 and One Piece volume 102 in the second and the third place, respectively.

Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen manga tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a student who lives in a world where negative energy called Curse can bring disaster to the world. Itadori’s life changes as he becomes a student at a school that trains Curse exterminators. The manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018. The manga has also received an anime adaptation, which began airing in October 2020.

Written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba tells the story of Tanjirou Kamado, the eldest son of a poor family that lives during the Taisho era.​ One day, his whole family were slaughtered by an unknown demon when he was away from home. The only family member who survived is her little sister Nezuko. Unfortunately, Nezuko also begins to transform into a demon. Now Tanjirou has to undergo a dangerous journey to find a cure for his half-demon sister.​
