In their press release, The Japan Foundation had announced the list of the film that will be screened in the Japanese Film Festival ONLINE 2022 (JFF ONLINE 2022). The event will be held online on their website from 14 to 27 February.
Twenty films, ranging from animation, drama, historical pieces, to documentary features, will be available in 25 Nation, which includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, United States, and Australia. Here’s the full line-up of the films that will be screened at the event:

As a part of the event, two Indonesian virtual YouTubers from Nijisanji ID will hold a watch party session on YouTube. Azura Cecilia will watch Time of EVE the movie on Wednesday, February 16, at 7 PM West Indonesian Time (GMT+7) with Nara Haramaung and Layla Alstroemeria. Meanwhile, another VTuber Hyona Elatiora will watch Patema Inverted on Friday, February 18, at 7 PM West Indonesian Time.
The Japanese Foundation Jakarta will also hold various seminar sessions. Osamu Masuyama will hold a seminar about creating background art in animated film on Saturday, February 19, at 2 PM West Indonesian Time. Professor Yoshimi Yamamoto and Tito Imanda also will hold a seminar about the history and representation of the Tattoo in Japanese and Indonesian cinema, which will be held on Sunday, February 20, at 3 PM West Indonesian Time. All seminar sessions will be conducted via Zoom Meeting.

Organized by Japan Foundation, the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is an annual film screening event that focused on showcasing Japanese films. Until 2019, JFF has been held as an offline event in 12 countries including Australia, Russia, China, India, and many Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia. In 2020, the event has shifted into an online event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several films have been screened at the JFF, including Shoplifters, One Cut of the Dead, Samurai Shifters, the Chihayafuru film series, and The Man from the Sea. Some anime films also had been screened at the event, including The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Tamako Love Story, The Boy and the Beast, The Anthem of the Heart, and Mary and The Witch’s Flower.
