Comics publisher Elex Media Komputindo will ship the light novel adaptation of One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure to Indonesian bookstores. The book is included in the list of new comic book releases for March 30, 2022. According to the product page on Gramedia.com, the suggested retail price for the book is IDR 75000 (about US$ 5.23).
The novel is an adaptation of the second One Piece movie. It tells the adventure of Straw Hat Pirates while visiting an island that is shaped like a screw, the Clockwork Island. Soon, Luffy and his crew get in a fight with the pirates who control the island, Trump Pirates.
The original One Piece manga follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who can stretch his body like rubber from eating a devil fruit. He and his pirate crew sail the seas in search of the One Piece, a legendary treasure hidden by the pirate king Gol D. Roger before his death. The manga has been serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 1997 and has been collected into 101 volumes at the time of this writing.
The TV anime adaptation had been aired in Indonesia by RCTI and Global TV, and the theatrical films have also been screened in Indonesia. The manga is published by Elex Media Komputindo.
