The latest Crayon Shinchan film, New Dimension! Crayon Shinchan the Movie: Battle of Supernatural Powers ~Flying Sushi~Â will be screened in Indonesia. Premiered on 21 June 2024, CGV Cinemas Indonesia and Flix Cinema have also confirmed that they will screen the film.
Battle of Supernatural Powers ~Flying Sushi~ tells the story of Shin-chan who gains the power of psychokinesis after being accidentally exposed to white light, one of two mysterious lights from the sky. However, the other mysterious light, the black light, falls onto Mitsuru Hiriya, a man who holds a grudge because of his bitter life experiences. Mitsuru wants to use his power for revenge and intends to destroy everything. Shinchan has no choice but to face Mitsuru’s wrath to save the world.
Created by Yoshihito Usui, the original Crayon Shinchan manga tells a story about the daily life of a 5-year-old boy named Shinchan with his family and friends. This series has attracted quite a lot of attention and controversy in Indonesia because of the many elements of adult jokes uttered by Shinchan, who is still 5 years old.
In Indonesia, the manga was first published by PT. Indorestu Pacific and then republished by Elex Media Komputindo. The anime adaptation was first broadcasteded by the Indonesian TV station RCTI and later by TRANS7.
