The Pokémon Festival 2024 Jakarta officially started on 5 December 2024 and will continue until 5 January 2025. Organized by AKG Entertainment, the festival is being held in the Central Park Mall and Neo Soho Mall.

Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer for the Asia Business Division of The Pokémon Company, attended the festival’s opening ceremony. He expressed his enthusiasm for Indonesia’s large and diverse Pokémon fanbase. Fukunaga noted, “Indonesia has a very large number of Pokémon fans across various generations. Through the Pokémon Festival, we hope to bring joy, nostalgia, and happiness to fans and families here.”

Christina Lim, General Manager of AKG Entertainment, also hoped that the Pokemon fans could enjoy the various activities at Pokémon Festival 2024. “This year’s festival is packed with a range of activities including Pokémon Illumination Park and the Miracle Wall TCG Exchange. There will be also the first-ever Pokémon appearance in Indonesia. In this activity, you’ll have opportunities to meet iconic Pokémon like Pikachu, Piplup, and the Galar Trio—Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. We hope attendees of all ages can create lasting memories with their families and friends.

Various Pokemon-Related Activities From the First Week of December Until January

Pokémon Festival 2024 started with various fun activities. On 7-8 December 2024, visitors were treated to the Pokémon Parade & Dance at various venues, including Laguna Atrium, Tribeca Park, Neo Soho Atrium, and Eco Skywalk. Pokémon fans could also enjoy special Meet & Greet sessions, allowing them to interact and take photos with their favourite characters.

Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) fans, the festival also held various TCG-related activities, including Trainers Camp and Deck Construction Workshop with Hyperpotatoes. There’s also a Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tactical Deck Battle Experience featuring JKT48 members and Haruka on Saturday, 7 December 2024, at Neo Soho Food Court, and the Pokémon TCG Battle Festival, which was also held in Neo Soho food court on the next day.

Fun for All Ages

Pokémon Festival 2024 is not just targeted at older Pokemon fans. For example, children under 7 years old can participate in Pokémon Kids TV Dance Performance to get acquainted and dance with Pokémon. Other kids’ activities in the festival include the Pokémon Kids TV Coloring Class and Pokémon Anime Watch Party.

Outside those activities, there are still plenty of exciting attractions and activities that visitors can enjoy throughout the Pokémon Festival 2024, including the Pokémon Festival Mini Games or Pokémon Stamp Rally Collection. Some activities like rally stamps also have prizes, including electric motorbikes, laptops, and some other prizes.

To capture their happy moments, visitors can also visit the Pokémon Illumination Park, Pokémon Photo Spot, and Pokémon Photo Booth at Central Park Mall. For Pokémon Illumination Park, it’s recommended to take a photo there from afternoon to evening, when the colourful lights illuminate the space at Tribeca Park.

Visitors can also check the cute merchandise line at the Pokémon Festival Merchandise Booth and purchase numerous official Pokémon items.

In the TCG Exhibition Area, visitors can also check the history of the cards. These cards have been available in Indonesia since 2019.

Another unique feature of the festival is the Miracle Wall TCG Exchange, where visitors can trade old Pokémon cards for a one-time gacha chance to win exclusive Pokémon prizes.

For Pokémon GO players, the festival includes a series of special events such as Raid Day, Research DayRaid Max, Community Day 2024, and Collection Challenges. In the Collection Challenges, the players can earn limited-edition Pokémon, such as Lapras wearing a scarf.
