The 2025 animated feature The Rose of Versailles is now available on Netflix with an Indonesian dub. Iyuno is credited as the dubbing studio with Cyinthia Ayu Meilani is credited as the dialogue director.

Adapted from a manga written by Ryoko Ikeda, The Rose of Versailles centres on a fictional character named Oscar, Queen Marie Antoinette’s bodyguard and a member of the French Royal Military in the years preceding the French Revolution. Despite having been brought up as a soldier, Oscar is actually a woman. The manga was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Margaret magazine from 1972 to 2973. Later, Shueisha revived the series by releasing extra chapters from 2013 to 2018.
The manga has been adapted into a TV anime series and an animated feature. The TV anime was aired from 10 October 1979 to 3 September 1980. The animated series premiered in Japan Japan on 31 January, with Netflix releasing the film internationally on 30 April 2025.
In Indonesia, the manga was published by Elex Media Komputindo. The 1979 TV anime is also aired on the Indonesian television station RCTI under the title Lady Oscar.
