Hideaki Sorachi’s popular manga series Gintama has been reported to be getting a live action adaptation. The live action Gintama stars Shun Oguri as Gintoki, the protagonist, with Yūichi Fukuda who (director of live action Hentai Kamen) will be the director of this film. Masaki Suda also stars as Shinpachi, while Kanna Hashimoto stars as Kagura.
Now, Encore Films through its Facebook and Twitter accounts has given a “hint” regarding the possibility of this film coming to Indonesia. Although there aren’t any further information about this, except the #ComingSoon hashtag. The live action Gintama film itself will premiere in Japan in Summer 2017.

Gintama manga debuted in 2004, and since then has been adapted into an anime in 2006. The third season of this anime has been aired since April 2015 and recently has entered the Sayonara Shinshengumi arc. Aside from the anime, this manga has been adapted into a film twice: Gintama: Shinyaku Benizakura-hen (2010) and Gekijoban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare (2013). The first season of the anime has been aired in Indonesian private TV station Indosiar in 2011.
