Following a previous announcement in October, local manga publisher m&c! has announced the release date for the sci-fi manga Planetes through their Facebook page. According to the schedule posted by m&c!, Planetes is scheduled to be released on the 4th of January 2017.
Originally serialized in Morning comic magazine from 1999 to 2004, Planetes tells the story of Hachirota “Hachimaki” Hoshino, a space garbage collector. Together with his team, Hachimaki is responsible for keeping the space clean from any kind of debris.
Planetes had also received an anime adaptation by Sunrise in 2003 with 26 episodes in total.
