Local manga publisher m&c! has just announced through their Facebook page that they are planning to re-release the sci-fi manga Planetes in 2017. Currently, no specific date has been set for the re-release.
Originally serialized in Morning comic magazine from 1999 to 2004, Planetes tells the story of Hachirota “Hachimaki” Hoshino, a space garbage collector. Together with his team, Hachimaki is responsible for keeping the space clean from any kind of debris.
Planetes had also received an anime adaptation by Sunrise in 2003 with 26 episodes in total.
