Indonesian book publisher m&c! posted a list of the publisher’s ten best-selling comics for September 2022. The top spot is taken by Ito Junji: Best of Best Short Story Collection, followed by Hai, Miiko volume 34 special edition, and Death Note: Short Stories in third place.

Ito Junji: Best of Best Short Story Collection contains ten short stories from the horror manga artist Junji Ito that was released by Shogakukan in 2019. It includes the fan favourite Enigma of Amigara Fault, as well as the stories Army of One, Human Chair (an adaptation of Ranpo Edogawa’s classic short story), Venus in the Blind Spot, The Licking Woman, Umezu Sensei and Me, Other Love of This World, The Possession of Professor Kirita, The Sad Tale of the Principal Post, and Memento.

Hai, Miiko is a manga series by Eriko Ono about the life of a young girl named Miiko. Published in Japan since 1995 by Shogakukan, the manga also received an anime adaptation in 1999.

Death Note: Short Stories is a compilation manga that will contain various short stories about the Death Note series. Those short stories are:

  • C-Kira
    A short story that focused on the world three years after the final battle between Light Yagami and L.
  • a-Kira
    A short story that focused on Tanaka Minoru, a student who meets Shinigami Ryuk. Just like Light Yagami, he then tries to use Death Note, but in a surprising way.
  • Kagami Taro
    The prologue of the Death Note series. It is not part of the manga series continuity.
  • L-One Day and L-The Wammy’s House
    Two manga chapters focused on L’s backstory.

The original Death Note manga tells the story of Light Yagami, a high school student who found Death Note, a book that could kill anyone whose name is written on it. After realizing its power, he started to punish criminals using the book. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2003 to 2006 and has been collected into 12 volumes. In Indonesia, the manga has been published by m&c! while the anime was aired in Indonesia on Global TV.

m&c! is an Indonesian comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Other than publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics magazines, books, Hong Kong martial arts comics, as well as Indonesian comics under the Koloni imprint.
