Puella Magi Madoka Magica

In the city of Mitakihara, Madoka Kaname and her friend encountered a creature named Kyubey who offered them a contract which grant a wish. In exchange, they should become a girl who hunts creatures called “witch”. They also met other magical girls like Akemi Homura, Mami Tomoe and Kyoko Sakura. Soon they realize life as magical girl is not as beautiful as they had imagined.
“Aesthetic,” is one word which can describe the beauty of Madoka Magica in terms of art. Ever since the beginning of the episode, I immediately realized that this is not an ordinary anime. Just like other SHAFT releases, the art looks like as if it’s something from another world, but it’s charming. In terms of story, I can say it’s quite satisfactory. Maybe because personally it was only then that I had seen a dark magical story, so its kinda biased. Some hint indicating that Madoka Magica has a connection with Nietzsche is also another plus point. People said that Madoka Magica is trying too much to be edgy anime, but I’m not sure another anime can be presented as beautiful as Madoka Magica, despite trying to be edgy or not being edgy at all. Shugo Chara!
The main protagonist of the story is Amu Hinamori, a female student attending Seiyo Elementary. At first glance, her classmates refer to her attitude and appearance as “cool and spicy” and rumors brew about her personal life. However, her real personality is that of a very shy girl who has trouble showing her true personality. One night, Amu wishes for the courage to show her “would-be” self, and the next morning, she finds three brightly colored eggs who will fulfill her wish.
Shugo Chara! with its light and cheerful tone had brought back my excitement with anime as a whole. (Dody Kusumanto/KAORI Newsline)

Tokyo Mew Mew have the cutest character design of every magical girl anime that I ever watched. (Dody Kusumanto/KAORI Newsline)
Ayu is an ordinary middle-school girl who never believes in superstitious things, until one day, her encounter with Nina change her life forever.. Based on the manga created by Wataru Yoshizumi, the anime once aired in Indonesia on TV7 and Space Toon.
Ultra Maniac provides a simple story about friendship between a magical girl and an ordinary girl. Combined with shoujo style romantic story, its a good anime for the weekend. (Dody Kusumanto/KAORI Newsline)
