Synopsis
Hakuno Kishinami found himself in a school building in a strange virtual world called SE.RA.PH. An NPC came out declaring that he and some another people in the world had to survive and fight each other in a ceremony called the Holy Grail War to grant a wish. Each participant has a Servant that helps them fight against other participants.

If in previous seasons fans of Fate series have been treated with the action-packed Fate/Apocrypha, Fate/Extra Last Encore opens with something quite different. The slow-paced story comes with a mysterious and enigmatic feel (including the appearance of some characters from Fate/stay night series in the middle of a virtual world setting a la The Matrix), complete with Studio SHAFT’s signature visual style. Action scenes are still present towards the end of this episode with the appearance of the Red Saber.
With the enigmatic story, the plot of the story might only be revealed slowly in the coming episodes. However, if you are a fan of the Fate series, Fate/Extra Last Encore can be an anime you can watch.
