Comments
Just like the game series, Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File presents a simple, yet intriguing case. The first episode tells the story of a family that suddenly went missing in a mysterious house. Viewers don’t need to think that hard to solve the case, because the case itself is simple and fun.
It may bore some viewers who expect more mature cases, but the simple yet imaginative nature of the cases are actually one of the uniqueness of Layton series. The cases are lighthearted, even more lighthearted than in series like Hyouka or HaruChika. It makes the series feel more relaxing than other mystery series. Fortunately, there is still room for viewers who wants to solve the case, and the anime makes sure that little details that are important for the case are presented. The clues are visible and easy to spot. The answers, however, probably will feel more imaginative than what the viewers thought at first.
