As reported previously, Indonesian comics publisher Elex Media Komputindo has licensed Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu‘s manga The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland). On Wednesday (26/6), the publisher has revealed that the first volume of the manga is scheduled to be released in bookstores on July 3, 2019. The first volume will be sold at the price Rp 25.000,- (or about US$1.77).

Emma, Norman, Ray lived a happy life at this small orphanage. However, one day, their happy life suddenly had came to an end.

What their destiny is like after they learned the cruel truth behind this orphanage?

Writer Kaiu Shirai and illustrator Posuka Demizu began serialization of the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump in 2016. The manga has been collected into 14 tankoubon volumes so far. An anime adaptation directed by Mamoru Kanbe at CloverWorks aired in winter 2019 with 12 episodes.

Elex Media Komputindo is a publishing unit under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics.
