On Thursday (3/9), the Twitter account of Elex Media’s editor of comics has posted a list of the publisher’s 10 best-selling comic books in the month of August 2020. The first volume of Gokushufudo – The Way of Househusband, which was released on August 5, 2020, takes the third spot in the list. The manga is published under Elex Media’s mature comics imprint Level Comics and printed on bookpaper and has the retail price of IDR 40,000 (about US$ 2.75).
The first place in the list is taken by One Piece volume 93 (released in July 2020), followed by Boruto volume 6 (released in July 2020). From the fourth place to the tenth in order are Kindaichi 37 Tahun (Kindaichi 37–sai no Jikenbo) Volume 3 (released in August 2020), One Piece volume 92 (released in March 2020), Demon Slayer volume 1 (first released on May 6, 2020), Detective Conan volume 96 (released in September 2019), Kung Fu Boy Legends (Tekken Chinmi Legends) volume 25 (released in February 2020), Hanako Si Arwah Penasaran (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) volume 11 (released in July 2020), and One-Punch Man volume 20 (released in August 2020). Boruto and Demon Slayer are printed on book paper, and retail for Rp 40,000 (about US$ 2.77), while One Piece, Detective Conan, Kung Fu Boy Legends, Hanako, and One-Punch Man retail for IDR 28,000 (about US$ 1.94). Kindaichi 37 Tahun retails for Rp 42,000 (about US$ 2.85)

Gokushufudo – The Way of Househusband is a manga series by Kousuke Oono, serialized in Shinchosha‘s online manga magazine Kurage Bunch since 2018. It tells the story of Tatsu, a fearsome yakuza nicknamed the “Immortal Tatsu.” After marrying a working woman named Miku, Tatsu retires from the life of crime and becomes a househusband to support his wife. Though his intimidating appearance and personality seem to clash with the domestic work he does, he still earnestly does his best to be a good househusband for his wife.
