Previously, it has been reported that Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo will release Naruto’s spin-off series Boruto. The first volume of the series has been released on 2 January 2019. The comic is released in premium format, with better quality paper than regular releases, at the price of Rp 40,000 (about US$ 2.83).

Boruto is a spin-off of Naruto written by Ukyo Kodachi and drawn by Mikio Ikemoto, while Masashi Kishimoto acted as supervisor. Boruto tells the story of Boruto Uzumaki, son of the Seventh Hokage and the Legendary Ninja Naruto Uzumaki, in his journey to find his own path of ninja. In Japan, Boruto has been released up to sixth volume.

Naruto is written and drawn by Masashi Kishimoto, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan on 1999. Naruto tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki in his pursuit of his goal to become a hokage, or the leader of ninjas in his country. The comic has been popular in Japan and worldwide especially after the debut of TV Series in 2002. Naruto ended in 2014 with 72 volumes released, 500 episodes of TV anime series, and 11 anime films.

Elex Media Komputindo has released all of Naruto manga in Indonesia. While the anime has been shown with Indonesian dub on Indonesian TV stations TRANS TV, Indosiar, and Global TV. the anime adaptation of Boruto has also been aired on Global TV with Indonesian dub. The main character Boruto Uzumaki is voiced by Marin, and other voice actors involved are Iphie Lubis as Denki Kaminarimon, Jane Leisila Zahara as Hinata Uzumaki, Salman Borneo as Shikamaru and Shikadai Nara, and Bima Sakti as Inojin Yamanaka. Many other voice actors from Naruto also reprise their roles, including Hana Bahagiana as Naruto Uzumaki.
