Agate Games, the Bandung-based developer that have released titles such as Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story (2019) for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, is currently working on their newest console game project titled Tirta.
Set in a world inspired by Balinese culture, players take on the role of a priestess traveling through an island full of mystery and sacred rituals. She must fight her way through man-made corruption in a story of man vs. nature. The gameplay, with its mix of action and puzzles, is evocative of games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Agate also states that the game is meant to introduce elements of Indonesian culture and stories to new audiences in an accessible way.
Tirta is currently in development and set to be released for the PlayStation 5, with plans to release the game for other platforms such as PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game is expected to be launched sometime in 2022.
