Indonesian TV station Rajawali Televisi (RTV) announced two new shows that will start airing on the channel in January 2021. The video posted on RTV’s social media accounts on Saturday (2/1) teases the tokusatsu series Power Rangers Super Megaforce and the anime series Anima Yell. The exact date the shows will start airing on RTV has not been revealed yet.
Power Rangers Super Megaforce is the 21st season of the Power Rangers series that celebrated the series’ 20th anniversary and a direct sequel to Power Rangers Megaforce. Taking place after the defeat of the Warstar aliens in Megaforce, the Megaforce Rangers now faces the invasion of the Armada. To counter this threat, the Rangers’ mentor, Gosei, gives them new Super Megaforce powers and Ranger Keys that also allows them to transform into past Rangers. Super Megaforce uses props and action footage from the Japanese Super Sentai series’s 35th anniversary season, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, with some elements from the preceding season Tensou Sentai Goseiger still included after they have been used for Megaforce.
Previously RTV has aired Power Rangers Megaforce in December 2020. RTV had also aired Power Rangers Ninja Steel and Power Rangers Beast Morphers.
Anima Yell tells the story of Kohane Hatoya, a girl who always helps others but has a fear of heights. Inspired from seeing a cheerleading performance, Kohane sets out to form a cheer club when she enters high school, taking along her childhood friend Uki Sawatari and veteran cheerleader Hizume Arima. The anime is adapted from a four-panel (yonkoma) manga series with the same name by Tsukasa Unohana that was serialized in Manga Time Kirara Carat from February 2016 to August 2020, with five collected volumes in total. The anime adaptation was directed by Masako Sato at Doga Kobo and aired in fall 2018 season.
