The Journey, the Japanese-Saudi joint production anime movie between Toei Animation and Manga Productions, will be aired on the Indonesian TV channel RTV (Rajawali Televisi). RTV’s Instagram account states that the movie will be broadcasted in April 2023. However, the exact broadcast date has not been announced yet.

Released in 2021, The Journey marks the first feature film production between Japanese animation studio Toei Animation and Manga Productions, a Saudi creative production company subsidiary of the MiSK Foundation established by Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman. The movie is a fictional retelling of the historical account of Mecca’s invasion during the birth year of Prophet Muhammad, as told in Islamic tradition.

The film revolved around Aws (voiced by Toru Furuya), a resident of Mecca, who fights against the invading army of Abraha (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) and his war elephants. While seeking to defend his city and the ones he loves, Aws must also confront his past, as Zurara (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya), an old friend believed to be dead, returns in front of him alive.
