Film distributors CB International and Encore Films Indonesia has confirmed that the live action film adaptation of Tokyo Revengers will be screened in Indonesian cinemas. The two distributors have posted the Indonesian poster for the film on their social media accounts in the first week of October 2021. The poster also informs that the film will be screened with Indonesian and English subtitles.

The premiere date for the film in Indonesia has not been announced yet, but the cinema chains CGV Cinemas Indonesia and Cinepolis Indonesia has confirmed they will screen the film.

Tokyo Revengers tells the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old underemployed man who, after being pushed by someone in front of a moving train, was sent back in time to his 14-year-old self. He then tries to save his ex-girlfriend Hinata Tachibana who is going to be killed in the future by the Tokyo Manji gang. The manga is created by Ken Wakui and is serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017 and has been collected into 24 tankoubon volumes as of the time of this writing.
The manga has received an anime adaptation, live-action film, and a stage play. The live action film is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa with scripts by Izumi Takahashi, and stars Takumi Kitamura as Takemichi Hanagaki, Yuki Yamada as Ken Ryuguji, Yosuke Sugino as Naoto Tachibana, Mio Imada as Hinata Tachibana, Nobuyuki Suzuki as Masataka Kiyomizu, Gordon Maeda as Takashi Mitsuya, Hiroya Shimizu as Shuji Hanma, Hayato Isomura as Atsushi Sendo, Shotaro Mamiya as Tetta Kisaki, and Ryo Yoshizawa as Manjiro Sano. The film was released in Japan in July 2021 after getting delayed by the pandemic.
The anime, produced at LIDENFILMS and directed by Koichi Hatsumi, began airing in April 2021. In Indonesia, Tokyo Revengers anime is available on both Muse Asia and Muse Indonesia YouTube channels, and is popular among the Indonesian audience, with each episode on the Indonesia channel reaching millions of views each. The manga has been licensed for Indonesia by Elex Media Komputindo.
