On Thursday (1/12), Comic Frontier announced the date and place for the Comic Frontier 16 event. It will be held on 11 and 12 March 2023 at Hall 8, 9, and 10 Indonesia Convention Expo (ICE) BSD, Tangerang. More information about the ticket price and the circle registration are not announced yet.

Comic Frontier 16 will be the second Comic Frontier event to be held as an offline event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous offline event, Comic Frontier 15, was held on September 2022. Comic Frontier 15 was packed with visitors. According to our on-site contributors, the visitors had to wait for 4 hours to get the ticket and wait for several more minutes to enter the venue because the venue is too crowded.

The head of Comic Frontier organizer, Sudwi Karyawi, expressed his apology for the “chaotic” Comic Frontier 15 event. He stated that the number of visitors exceed his expectation. 20 thousand tickets were sold on the first day, exceeding the organizer’s expectation of 13 thousand tickets. The lack of information control also became his concern during the event.

“Once again, we apologize to the visitors for all of the problems that arise during the event, both on the first and second day” Sudwi stated in an interview with our Indonesian contributors.

Comic Frontier or Comifuro is a biannual exhibition of creative works held annually since 2012. Comic Frontier has gathered hundreds of creators, not only from fans of anime, manga, and various things about Japan, but also from popular culture from other countries like Western comics, K-Pop, Indonesian comics, and original indie works. Comic Frontier has also featured famous creators to share their experiences with visitors of the event.
