Despite being a professional shogi player, 17-year-old Kiriyama Rei lives away from his family, doesn’t have any friends, and doesn’t go to school. Together with the Kawamori sisters: Akari, Hinata, and Momo, Rei starts to learn more about himself while improving in shogi.
With studio Shaft working on 3-gatsu no Lion under the direction of Akiyuki Shinbo, you can expect stuff like close-up shots and unique visualisations* seen in most of Shaft’s works. Other than that, 3-gatsu no Lion manages to fuse together Shinbo’s “unique” way of directing with Umino Chika’s essence seen in her manga (spoken sound effects, over-the-top reactions) without overpowering each other. Smooth and faithful scene transitions made 3-gatsu no Lion a must watch for fans of slice of life genre/shogi alike. *Spoiler: The amount of headtilting in 3-gatsu no Lion’s first episode is 0. First-grade high school student Kenji Gion found his true desire in his first day at school. With his new friend Sumiaki Iwashimizu, Kenji started his fascinating experience in rugby club.
All Out!!, as most of Madhouse anime, delivers neat and pretty animation to its audience. The first episode introduce us about Kenji and Sumiaki friendship, and also how Sumiaki resolves his trauma that keeps him from playing rugby. The series is pretty humorous and light, to say the least, while still can deliver good emotions when it needs to. Even though there is not much to be discussed from the first episode, it’s safe to say that All Out!! has its potential in the upcoming episodes. Be aware, though, this anime is one of tasty materials for the fujoshi that may bug certain someone. (Daniel Ageng Satrio – The Indonesian Anime Times)

Told the story about a student who wanted to become an avid reader, but herself was too lazy to read books. Her daily life was filled with discussing various famous works, while complaining on how difficult to become an avid reader.
Don’t be fooled by the picture above, because this short anime is a comedy story covered with literature. If you are an avid reader, maybe you’ll recognize some of titles mentioned here. If you are not one, then at least it’s good to add some knowledge on literature. Although, well, the comedy may be a little difficult to be understand. In a world where bizarre insomnia plague spreads, a cure was made to neutralize the disease. However, it came with a side effect that is so creepy, turning normal people blood-thirsty that were called “Bloodivers”. Mi Liu and friends as main protagonists appeared to find out the real truth behind this phenomena.
Creators In Pack is known as one of the outsourcing anime studio out there. Instead of making its way into standalone works, it usually backs up other anime studio such as P.A. Works and A-1 Production. Although, Creators In Pack had actually made several anime series such as Danchigai and Hacka Doll. Both of them were fairly received by the audience, which would be no exception for Bloodivers. The main problem with this new series is that it fails so hard at presenting a good storyboard. Even at the opening song, you could already see many mistakes such as a frame that freezes too long that will make you wondering whether there is something wrong with your device. The background used in Bloodivers is also not that incredible, instead uninspired. It seems like they use a bit too many of CGI background than they are supposed to do. For the pilot, Bloodivers doesn’t serve anything new to the table (except for a cliffhanger that leaves you not wondering), either it is animation-wise or plot-wise. You could just watch Tokyo Ghoul.
